Kodiak Brown Bear Hunting…what more needs to be said. This is the best place in the world to shoot a trophy class Brown Bear for several reasons. The #1 Boone and Crockett record bear came from Kodiak Island. The number of trophy bears taken in the past 5 years with skulls over 28” was higher than any 5-year period since 1960, according to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. It is estimated that there is one bear per square mile on Kodiak. The Kodiak Bear population is stable, healthy, and productive. We hunt hard and smart in order to maximize your opportunity at a trophy bear, and it pays off.
Moose…in the Alaska Range are available from August 20th to September 25th which coincides with the rut. Our goal is to take 60 inch or bigger moose. You will have an excellent opportunity to take extra animals on your moose hunt. Bear, caribou, sheep, wolf, and wolverine are all available depending on where you go hunting.
Interior Grizzly/Brown Bear…On these hunts, we target mature males. Boar grizzlies can grow to 9’ but the average is around 7’6”. Bears in the 8’ range are not uncommon. Boar brown bears in the Alaska Range can grow to 9’ 6” but the average is around 8’. We spot and stalk hunt from cabins and tent camps as well as hunt over bait. The spring hunts range from snowmobile hunting in April to glassing slopes that have started to green up in May and June. Our baited hunts start in May and run through June 15th. The fall hunts are spot and stalk or baited, August and September into early October.
Black Bear…These hunts are in the Alaska Range and the limit is three bears per season. We have had tremendous success taking bears in this area and many bears square 7’. We have bait sites and spot and stalk hunts specifically targeting black bears and we also take them as opportunity allows while hunting other animals. Our bait hunts are out of our cabins which allow for some of the comforts of home. Black bear hunts start in April and run through October.
Wolf/wolverine…are a rare sight to see on a hunt, but it is possible, just seeing one of these animals is awesome.
